        Job Title: Competitor Analysis Engineer
        Division/Department: Technical Development
        Location: Tianjin
        Your Responsibilities:
        * Analysis and report:
        Responsible for investigating and researching competitor and supplier
        information regarding emerging technologies and market trends with a focus on
        Technical Development (VWATJ TD) products. Using: Patent research, competitor
        database research, exhibitions, trade shows, forums, supplier visits,
        institutes, universities, ...).
        Regular reporting of the systematic prepared researches
        * Maintenance of knowledge database/sharing:
        Responsible for the preparation of the final analysis report (with the support
        of the experts/BTVs).
        Responsible for data storage of competitor analysis results and
        communication/exchange between internal and external project interfaces. Based
        on all findings, conclusions are to be drawn on the impact on system
        interconnect, component sizing, lifetime, efficiency, thermal performance,
        etc.. In addition, all the findings will be used to classify the product in
        specially prepared benchmark studies and to determine how the product compares
        directly with the market (e.g. "best-in-class", average).
        In the future, design recommendations and optimization proposals are to be
        derived in order to reduce the component/assembly costs (e.g. in the context of
        model maintenance).
        Assists in the definition, procurement and creation of exhibits.
        Responsible for organizing and presenting final report for "Part Table
        Exhibition" or similar events.
        * Project Planning/Control:
        Responsible for the development of the resulting schedule including the
        tracking of the individual work and task packages.
        Responsible for the procurement or organization of the analysis parts,
        components as well as work equipment (including all necessary steps, e.g. BM,
        logistics, ...). Support of the (test bench) measurement of competitor
        components and its subsequent comparison with the analysis data/simulation
        models Responsible for the organization and control of the disassembly, which
        are related to the analysis. Including disassembly, evaluation, photography as
        well as documentation of the complete analysis (with support of the
        experts/BTVs within the technical development department and our laboratory).
        * Reconciliation and collection:
        Responsible for the coordination with internal and external partners (e.g.
        VCIC Beijing, VW Anhui, ...) about the desired scope of analysis. Additional
        intensive coordination with internal computation departments to understand and
        determine the overall multi-physical system topology (consisting of
        battery/inverter/motor/transmission/cooling) by means of a
        "systematic-inverse-approach". The structure and functioning of the (sub-)
        components are to be understood and their interactions analyzed. All
        characteristic parameters of all components are to be recorded and processed
        (these are subsequently used for the digital modeling of the system behavior
        "digital twin").
        * Technical evaluation and reverse engineering:
        In charge of inferring the design fundamentals from the analyzed competitive
        parts. This includes statements about service life design, strength, fatigue
        strength, temperature resistance, electrical design criteria, schematics,
        technical design of electrical machines, gearboxes, etc..
        * Supports the goal of the ISO 9000 certification
        * Supports the ?continuous improvement process“ in the company
        Your Qualification:
        * Education: Bachelor Degree or above (or comparable degree in major) major
        in Mechanical engineering / Natural Since / Electrical Engineering / Automobile
        Engineering or comparable
        * English (fluent) mandatory, Chinese (fluent) preferable, German is an
        advantage
        * Deep knowledge and a wide interest in the automobile industry and the
        powertrain technology and curious to explore new things and be up-to-date in
        the actual automobile landscape in China
        * Very good in explaining/reporting complex and new technologies and creating
        suitable presentations
        * Very good communication ability / extroverted and easy building up networks
        together with a very high motivation and flexibility.
        * Integrity and value-driven working style, compliant to rules and regulation
        * Remain accountable when mistake happens and be able to speak up if
        something goes wrong.
